THE OVERVIEW ART COLLECTION
From October to April, farmers in Palm Beach County, Florida, USA burn their sugarcane fields in order to remove the sugarless, leafy portions of the plant that surround its stalks. Once the fires die down, machines chop down these stalks and take them to sugar mills for processing.
The region’s annual harvest has grown to a total of nearly 17 million tonnes, which can be processed into more than 2 million tonnes of sugar.
