DOCUMENTRY – An exhibition concept to highlight the importance of documentary photography
OPEN 24/7
Dokumentärt is a concept born from the idea of showcasing visual storytelling in public spaces – places that are accessible to everyone, at any time, without the need for staff. Together with a property owner, we have developed a modular exhibition that can be installed in an empty retail space with display windows during periods between tenants or during renovations. It’s a way to spark curiosity and shed light on our times by using public space as a place for reflection and dialogue. Documentary photography plays a central role here – it captures reality as it is and tells stories that might otherwise remain unseen.
At a time when developments in AI are challenging the credibility of documentary images in various ways – where images can be created, manipulated, and "enhanced" digitally – it is becoming increasingly difficult to determine what is real. This affects our trust in photography as a true depiction of reality, something that has historically been the core of documentary photography. That’s why projects like Dokumentärt are more important than ever – to highlight and reaffirm the significance of documentary images in our contemporary world.

The exhibition consists of several documentary stories by some of the leading photojournalists – many affiliated with major, influential newspapers in Sweden, as well as freelancers from other parts of the world.
We have access to their stories, which we have framed and packaged together with descriptive texts.
The number of images is entirely based on the client’s needs and the size of the available space.
