The Hidden Beauty of Seeds & Fruits is a series of beautiful, high magnification photographs that capture the complex shapes, textures and adaptations of the botanical world.
The project is created by photographer Levon Biss and showcases specimens from the collections of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
The exhibition is available for museums or galleries as an outdoor or indoor exhibition from oktober 2022.

The unique photographs allow the audience to appreciate and study these tiny botanical specimens in levels of detail normally only available with the use of microscopes. Using his photo stacking techniques and bespoke camera system, Levon is able to capture unprecedented levels of detail from specimens too small to view with the naked eye, providing the audience with an insight into an unseen world.
THE AIM WITH THIS EXHIBITION
The aim of The Hidden Beauty of Seeds & Fruits is to Increase awareness of the wonders of the botanical world through the art of photography. Also to inspire the next generation of artists, botanists and scientists. and challenge our understanding of seeds & fruits. It´s also provides a platform to discuss biodiversity and conservation.
THE STORIES
Every photograph is accompanied by text providing botanical information including:
details of its origin
description of the parent plant
use within human society
the story of it’s name
specific features or adaptations method of reproduction
The text is written with all age groups in mind and is both educational and entertaining.
