ART & SCIENCE OF WATER
FOR THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR OCEANS
Art & Science of Water is an ongoing outdoor exhibition project to highlight the importance of our oceans.
The project is initiated by UpOnWalls, Pater Noster Cultural and Art Association, and Pater Noster – A Home at the Horizon. It aims to deepen human understanding of the oceans—not as something we own or use freely, but as a living world of countless habitats that must be treated with respect. To protect them, we must first learn to understand them.
Situated on a remote, exposed site in the open sea, the project brings together art and science to draw attention to what is happening in our oceans—and to the life within them.
Through installations, images, and research-based perspectives, it seeks to create awareness, reflection, and dialogue around the fragile balance of marine ecosystems. At the same time, the project explores the fundamental importance of water in all its forms—for humans, for other species, and for the planet as a whole.
The project began in 2023 and continues to evolve, growing over time through new works, collaborations, and perspectives.
